About Me

Music is something I am extremely passionate about, and have been since I was a child. I started learning piano when I was 3 years old, it didn’t take me long to realise this is what I wanted to do with my life. Studying music for 16 years, I was accepted into the Conservatorium of Music, Young Con, in 2016. There I started taking private lessons, and advanced from the intermediate program, to the senior program as of last year. Studying at the con provides me with ample performance opportunities, notably, playing at City Hall for emerging pianists that placed in the Queensland Piano Competition.

 

I was awarded my Associate in Music, Australia (AMusA), and my Theory of Music, Grade 5

 in 2022, and I am currently working on completing my Licentiate in Music Australia (LMusA) and my Theory of Music, Grade 6. Having worked through all the previous grades for both classical piano and theory, I am well versed on how to approach and teach these levels to aspiring students. During this time, I entered and placed in numerous piano eisteddfods, for instance the Brisbane Eisteddfod and the Queensland Eisteddfod.

 

As well as piano, I also dabbled in other percussion instruments, and composition. I performed in the Australian National Percussion Eisteddfod in my percussion group in both 2020 and 2021, winning first prize both times. I also performed in the ANZAC day ceremony in my drumline group in 2021. This gave me experience with a wide array of instruments and working in group contexts that I believe to be invaluable when teaching music.
